Dr. Shabana Khan, O.D. attended the University of Houston and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology/chemistry. She then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where she graduated with honors in 2003. Dr. Khan completed internships specializing in geriatric ocular disease, neurologic ocular disease, pre- and post-operative management of cataract and refractive surgery patients, including LASIK.
Dr. Khan is licensed to practice optometry in the state of Texas. She holds certification from the Texas Optometry Board as a therapeutic optometrist. She has received post graduate training in the management of glaucoma and is a certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Khan specializes in fitting hard and soft contact lenses, including toric and multifocal lenses. Before joining North Texas Family Eye Care, Dr. Khan practiced in Houston for eight years before moving to the McKinney area.
She is a native Houstonian and loves to cheer on the Houston Rockets. In her free time, she enjoys spending time trying new recipes, hiking, traveling, and pottery. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her husband and children.
